Nike/Jordan is a retro shoe company. They can’t sell new shoes. As an OG that’s been in the sneaker game since 85 when the Jordan 1 released (I’m 49), they were GROUNDBREAKING! Now I have 3 up and coming future pro athlete sons. The oldest of the 3 told me he doesn’t want Jordans anymore…that he wants the AE1s. I was surprised.

Maybe the only other time that adidas has hype comparable to Nike was when boost was still new especially around 2017 or so.

Nah the Jordan 1 back in the day was never like that what it is now.. The og j1 is just the beginning of a classic series making it important to the og gen and that’s why some of us only want the og. Back in the 80’d we wore all types of the brands that’s repeating itself now the exact same thing but with adidas it was the shell toe..

Nike basketball has been coasting for the last 10 years. The books aren’t bad but the didn’t release the better colorways and didn’t put them on Nike id. The AE 1 is a good combination of design and being able to buy the colorways a player is having highlighted/ key moments in.

Bought em when they first came out. Was in middle school. Loved them so much I hardly wore them to keep em minty........then grew outta them and eventually gave em away lol. What a waste

To me they alright, only thing I dont like is the netting part, if it was completely white, I would buy em. The military blue, fire red I just dont like the netting onnem, the Bred red look pink almost and leather too shiny. They could make it crazy or simple and its fire, but these last few times they put the colours on the wrong place, they could make it so much better all the time, but they always make something off. I understand it, but sometimes Im like why dont make it perfect when u can. I wanted to get em, but its just not that crazy or different for the collection, if u just started or want 1 pair of sneakers, yeh they cool, but not that crazy. I like the leather back and sockliner on these alot tho, but its just too simple looking like a school shoe
